Since 1888, Four Roses Bourbon is a proven and high-quality bourbon line with a loyal consumer base. The Four Roses brand is highly respected for its adherence to traditional bourbon distillation practices and its commitment to creating some of the highest quality bourbons available today.

The bourbon line is owned by Kirin Holdings America, Inc. and is produced by the Kirin Brewery Company in Lawrenceburg, Kentucky. The distilling and bottling both occur at the company’s historical facility near Cox’s Creek.

With its rich history, multiple awards, and loyal fanbase, we feel more than confident recommending Four Roses Bourbon to any bourbon enthusiast looking to venture beyond their current roster of favorite bourbons.

Mash Bill

Four Roses Bourbon’s ingredients by percentage are 75% corn, 20% rye, and 5% malted barley, making its mash bill fairly traditional compared to most of its competitors available on the bourbon market.

Four Roses Bourbon is aged in new charred American white oak barrels for a minimum of 5 years. This process allows the barrel to infuse the aging bourbon with notes of oak and sweet vanilla to deliver a dynamic tasting bourbon to the end consumer.

Recommended Cocktails

Cocktail Choice #1: “Peach Rose”

Having been named the official cocktail of Four Roses Bourbon’s 130th anniversary, this cocktail has positioned itself as one of the brand’s flagship recipes.

For this cocktail, you will need the following ingredients: 1 ounce of Four Roses Bourbon, a slice of peach, ¾ ounces of simple syrup, ¾ ounce of lemon juice, 1 ounce of Pimms, and a splash of your favorite ginger beer. We recommend building the cocktail in a cocktail mixer by first starting with muddled peach mixed with simple syrup and lemon juice. Next, you will want to add 1 ounce of Pimms and 1 ounce of Four Roses Bourbon. Once complete, you will need to shake the cocktail mixture over ice and strain it into your glass of choice.

Cocktail Choice #2: “Apple Rose”

This cocktail is a bit less labor-intensive than the “Peach Rose” recipe but serves wonderfully as a quick afternoon cocktail recipe to help unwind from the day. For this cocktail, you will need the following ingredients: 1 and ½ ounces of Four Roses Bourbon, 1 and ½ ounces of apple juice, and 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters.

We recommend starting the process by filling a highball glass with ice and 1 and ½ ounces of Four Roses Bourbon. Next, add the recommended amount of apple juice and stir briefly, topping off with additional ice as needed. Lastly, add in 4 dashes of Angostura Bitters with a garnish of apple slices. Once these steps are complete, the cocktail is finished and ready to be enjoyed!
